ARE STAT TRACKERS REUSABLE?

The Character Trackers and Blank Monster Trackers are printed on uncoated, heavy-duty cover stock so you can write on them with pencil, pen or fine-tip sharpie. If you use pencil, they can be erased and used again. Erasing does not smear the printed ink and the paper stock can hold up to multiple uses before getting worn. Once it does get worn out, just replace the Stat Tracker. We tried to make the price of a single Tracker inexpensive enough to not have to fret too much when it needs to be replaced. We also sell refill packs for your convenience.

The pre-printed monster trackers are printed on the same heavy-duty stock but are coated to hold up to gentle wet-erase use if you want to temporarily modify a monster or add notes. We recommend you test a small area with your brand of wet erase marker to be sure it does not stain and you promptly wipe them clean after each session. We have found some ultra fine-tip wet erase markers are too rigid and dent/break the coating, resulting in indentations and staining.

HOW ARE STAT TRACKERS USED FOR MULTIPLE MONSTERS OF THE SAME TYPE IN AN ENCOUNTER?

There is a single Monster Tracker for each type of creature found in the set. As per the rules for initiative in 5e, a DM makes one initiative roll for an entire group of identical creatures. So all creatures of the same kind are represented by one Monster Tracker on your GM screen in initiative order. You just keep track of individual creature’s hit points as you have always done.

DO MONSTERS WITH LONG STAT BLOCKS FIT ON THE MONSTER TRACKER CARD?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We edit each monster entry to be as condensed as possible; just the minimum number of words needed for each power, attack and ability. On a very small number of Monster Trackers, some information is continued on the back. If this is the case, the front of the card says "see back" where appropriate. But you ar enever thrown to the source book for stats. It's all there!
